About Us
Having realized the potential of Bamboo as the saviour of the universe, Bamboo Greens, under the leadership of a retired Army Colonel, is committed to promotion of Bamboo and its use in our daily lives. Being costly, till now, Bamboo Fiber products are only within the reach of the rich. Raw bamboo handicraft products made in India still use the primitive technology resulting in making them less lucrative than the ones being made abroad.
Bamboo Greens thus, aims at bringing awareness into people's minds towards the use of Bamboo and also making it affordable for the masses.
Bamboo is a rapidly renewable source growing up to its full height of nearly 100 feet in 4 years. Bamboo Greens aims at promoting Bamboo plantations in our country and bringing more and more of our farmers into growing Bamboo as a cash crop.
Bamboo is a good substitute for wood both for timber as well as construction material. Known for its density and remarkable tensile strength, Bamboo has been used for construction of buildings, bridges and scaffolds for centuries. Bamboo is structurally stronger than steel and at the same time it is light weight, easy to handle and has heat insulation and vibration damping properties. Bamboo Huts are strong and affordable.
Bamboo Greens aims at promoting the Technology for converting Bamboo into timber and also building of Bamboo Cottages.
The processing technology of converting raw bamboo into bamboo fiber is still not available in India. Thus, the Bamboo fiber required for use by textile industry is being sourced from China. Even in China, the technology has been patented by few factories and they control the market. Bamboo Greens aims at bringing in the technology for processing of bamboo into bamboo fiber so that production of Bamboo fiber can take place in our country.
